This purifier is very different to a normal air purifier and actually uses a house plant to remove particles from the air. The unit works perfectly with pollen, dust and other allergens but also has the ability to remove commonly found household chemicals.

Benzene and formaldehyde are now common in many new households and most normal purifier will not be able to deal with it.  This plant purifier will actually pull these chemicals inwards using the fans and let the plants natural filtration system within the leaves, roots and soil to then pass fresh air out the back. In tests for an hour it was shown that 80% of the formaldehyde was removed from the air.

Check out the image to see how this purifier uses plants to clean the air:

This new plant based purifier is from a company called Le Laboratoire and they hope it will change the way we see air purification forever. As the plants naturally remove the pollutants there will no need to change the filter so to speak. The plants will actually grow naturally and the unit will help to keep them healthy with its own water supply.

We had a minor issue with the sound of the fans in the purifier but this should be dealt with in the release of the next version. At the moment i would suggest that you don’t put one of these next to your bed as it might wake you.

You could use any plant but i recommend going for an aloe Vera type plant as its better at filtration than most others.
